Classic horror movie monsters, once villainised and othered, are reclaimed in ‘Oh! The Horror!’. The likes of vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein’s monster become vessels for trans-rage, expressing feelings of resentment towards society, stereotyping and false preconceptions. I became fascinated with the idea of the sympathetic monster, taking direct inspiration from my love of horror-based media and marrying it with personal struggles with gender and transformation.
